87 TPI won't start (no spark)...
The car is an 87 TPI. The car had a hard time starting earlier today but after three tries it finally started. After that it was parked and then the next time I tried to start it, it just turned over. The fuel pump is priming and I took a spark plug wire off, hooked up a plug, grounded it, and tried to start it and it dident spark.
What would cause a TPI to not spark? All the connections around the distributer have been checked and I tried a different coil, but it still dident spark. Any ideas?
Thanks for the help,
Matt

I agree with the others, check your ignition module and the connections on it. If you do replace it, be sure to coat the bottom of it with that grease that comes with it. If you don't, it will get cooked in no time. Also while you're at it, check the distributor cap and rotor and replace if they look worn.
Hi Matt!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Matt!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an 86TPI and it has the same problem. When I went to replace the ignition module it still had no spark and the connections were all in decent looking shape. It seemed really hot but thats all I have found so far. after that it sits!

Awsome. This is actually my friends car, mine is carb'd. I'll let him know and we'll try replacing the ignition module.
Thanks for the help. Mike I'll let you know if I we find anything else that might cause this.
