If your heads can take the added lift, go for it.

At that amount of lift and duration, it wont hurt a bit.

according to edelbrock the springs should handle .560 lift. what about tales of wearing guides? there has to be a down side is it durability? over some time?

Wearing guides can be an issue. From what I understand, it kinda hit or miss.

...I've also always heard that the biggest gains from 1.6 comes from the fact that they are typically higher quality than OEM stamped rockers, and don't flex much. Someone did a comparison and found a noticeable difference going from OEM rockers to 1.52 and 1.6, but didn't see much difference between the 1.52, and 1.6. Both made a difference.

....I did a search a few months back, and I don't remember who posted those results...

the 1.6's i have are brand new. so i should sell um and get the 1.52 versions. i definatly dont want to tear down the motor within the near future.

I think I read that most of the problems with the guides are on factory heads, and you have the Edy's according to your sig. I "THINK" you should be OK, but I may do some more research.

...not sure how it'll actually affect performance.
