true, i recommend the LT1/LT4 conversion for it. cheaper than mini ram, but will make similar power. LOL

yes, i wanted the lt1 , but in talking with john millican , he says the lt1/lt4 intakes will not fit thses heads, that i am in the same boat as the vortec guys, but, i was able to run any carbureted intake i wanted on these heads as long as i used the 1266 felpro gasket, i dont see where the difference would be from the converted lt1 and a regular smallblock intake fitting on these heads, they did come with both regular smallblock holes and vortec holes, i wonder if when i have used the 1266 that it has sucked it up enough to make up the difference?

how about the GM ramjet intake? I think you can pick up the intake and fuel rails for less than $500(but don't quote me on that), find an LS1 throttle body, and it should work...I don't know if the intake will cover those ports, but it does have a vortec intake pattern, and its less than the mini-ram.

do you think i could just re drill the intake holes a little and use some small washers maybe with some grade 8 intake bolts and get it to work?

well i dont know in talking to a lot of yall A) some have never messed with fastburn heads in person B) have never messed with 1266 felpro's. that is why i asked the ? because when this motor was carbed before the refresh i could get a regular smallblock intake on it with the 1266. my main ? is is there a size difference between a regular sbc base and the tpi base?

Jay, do you still have the red car?
Holley makes the Stealth-ram for vortec heads now!!
Go with the vortec/fast-burn stealth-ram.

There was a Miniram III for vortecs on ebay for $500 a few days ago, might want to look into that.
What size intake gasket do those fast burns take? I know the stealthram is limited to 1205 or smaller IIRC. I just seem to remember people saying 1206s are too big...
The fast burns are probably a 1205 though (190ish cc intake runners)

when they were ported they were ported for a 1206 or 1266, they flowed around 310cfm at 550 lift on the 2.08/1.65 valves

If you port em that far Im sure you have to re weld them to add some material... or they are super thin when ported to 1206s

We we talking about different things
Im worried about matching the intake to your heads. I researched a bit and found this pic, and the only difference in a 1206 and a 1266 is .04", so they are almost ths same..

thats what i thought, the 1266 is double the thickness though? that means that i should be able to make the regular stealthram work right?
