Who has the quickest Mass Airflow car?

Just wondering how quick cars have gone with a mass airflow meter as apposed to a speed density set up.

I still have that article from Hot Rod; "Kinetic Engineering". 1985 IROC, Supercharged 305 TPI, running in the 10's... yet looks bone stock!

The fastest MAF car? Proably someone with a 5.0 Mustang! Much better engine management system than the GM MAF system.

I knew what you meant. Just had to put that out there. It's a good question though. And, are they still running the stock MAF meter? I'll tell who's doesn't have the fatests MAF car: me!

There was a guy on here that was named ski_dwn_it. He didn't have a 3rd gen, but it was a TPI vette, so it's pretty close. He still used the MAF and was making hella HP. He was booted from the site for not agreeing with some members/mods here, but a search can find that he was making 438 RWHP on the dyno, which is around 600hp up top.

He was using a 406TPI with SuperRam intake, but still had the MAF metering system. People still don't trust the dynomometers, so you will need to find is times.

Hmmmmm, That ring a bell. Is it Prestons car? Not long ago they had an article in GMHighTech. But I do remember "Kinetic Energy" from way back, (about 16 yrs. or so) in Super Chevy.

That he was a pioneer in the TPI. The fact was no one made parts for the cars then. In the S/S article, he was going 10s with the 305..relying on Extrude Hone process and all...Then in GM High Tech, I believe he was going mid 9s.

Found it. May 1998 GM High Tech, he was 9.95/135.

Best 60 ft. 1.37. all with 24 p.s.i. of boost.

He and the car suffered a bad accident. Alls good now. Recently he had the car submitted in the Hot Rod pump gas street drags. Im not gonna get into the rules here, but he was not picked anyway. Just a little FWIW.

Thats Jessie Azzatto. He is now banned. I see him at the track all the time. Now its a 434, and he goes back and forth from S/D to MAF. The car went as fast as 10.23@ 125 I believe. Dont hold me to that, it might not be exact, but its real, real close.

Yes, that's the one. I got mixed up with Hot Rod, but it's definitely Super Chevy... I'm looking at that very article as I'm writing this; "Kinetic Engineering".

Preston's 1985 305 TPI Burgundy (T-Top) IROC (looks bone stock, runs 10's, and gets 20mpg). If anyone care's to read it, I honestly don't mind posting it. It's a great read!
