1.6rr with stock centerbolt covers?

Hi guys, just as the subject says...

Can I use 1.6rr's with my new 91 vette motor and still be able to use my stock valve covers or any 87+ short style valve cover for that matter. I have heard you can modify the insides of the valve cover to make it work. Anyone have any input on this? I dont know if it matters, but I am using the aluminum vette heads?

Thanks...

Hey usually any rocker besides stockers will hit the webbing in the stock covers .I have seen a few companies make a slim bodied rocker to fit stock covers.I have cut some of the webbing out with snips to gain clearance in the past .I finally just bought new centerbolt covers with no webbing with room for anything im running a set of comp pro magnums no probs..

With a stock cam you should be fine. I'm running .510 lift with stock VC's no problem. (with 1.5s)

Same thing right? lift is lift?

I've got the Crane Gold rockers with my Vette heads and the stock covers. No modifications were required.

Crane Gold/LT4 HOTCAM roller rockers will clear stock centerbolt valve covers on the cam/bird.

Have them on mine and they clear fine

later
