there is a guy here Hawks-TDZ I think is the addy . He got 274 hp ..with over 400 ft/lbs of tq . Runnnig a stock TPI and AFR 190 w/ 74 cc chambers. It will be a stup puller running TPI . If you arent all about the 1/4 mile. Use TPI. it produces power at lower levals . I have read on here that a stroked motor like to operate at lower rpms . SO I say just use an intake that reflects that. But there are others whome of done otherwise ...with good results aswell .
Are emissions an issue for you ? Why do you want the TPI . Are you bent on the optimal 1/4 mile setup ....or do you like a car that is good for throwing people back in there seats when you show it off to them .

These are some questions you need to ask yourself.

well TPI is a very good light to light burner .....that will definatley snap back the heads fo your passengers. If you go with a short runner intake . It will pull ...and pull . TPI ( stock ) stops yanking you at around the 4800 rpm mark . I had an aftermarket edlebrock setup ported ....to raise this limit. Emissions is an issue ....so you got the bigger TPI ...or SuperRam. I am not sure if the 1st injection unit is emission friendly or not ( EGR ) .

With the stock cam. I would just get a bigger TPI unit ...kinda like what I am running. But this is just a preferance ...
Gears ...go with the 3.42's with the 700R4.... you will run outta topend in a hurry runnngi the 3.73's . I got them now on a 5 speed and , my first gear is pretty darn short.

Please do a search. It is called the Holley Stealth ram. There is also the LT1 intake conversion, mini-ram, ram-jet, Super ram, TPI, and converted carb intakes.

From: Dallas, TX area
Car: 91 Formula WS6 (Black, T-Tops)
Engine: 383 MiniRam (529 HP, 519 TQ - DD2K)
Transmission: Built '97 T56, Pro 5.0, CF-DF
Axle/Gears: 4.11 posi Ford 9"
The Super Ram is emissions legal and has the CARB numbers/stickers to prove it.

The Holley Stealth Ram does not.

That's why I went with the SuperRam on my 383 since Dallas tests as well. If you've got a "contact", that may not be a problem for you.

I wanted to stay emissions legal if I could, and I am (high flow dual cats, the A.I.R, etc.)
