ford injectors will fit???

I am about to replace my stock 19 lb chevy injectors with 30 lb ford ones(as the senior members on here suggested i do)

When i was looking to order them from Summit it looks like all the stats...ie o ring O.D's and overall height is different then the chevy injectors.

Will they still fit on my stock tpi intake or is there a special order # when buying the ford injectors??

Thanks in advance..

I'm using them.

You might want to check the o-rings themselves vs the stock ones though, seems like the supply of sizes varies widely and they may be too small.

Svo injectors work great and I have run the 24 and 30#'s and liked them thus far.

My only beef was as madmax posted, might want to hit a parts store and get a new injector 0-ring kit for a GM as the o-rings are bigger and sturdier to the naked eye. U will see what I mean if u get them, the ford o-rings are defintiely smaller in stature.

Anyone have a part number for the Ford SVO 30lb injectors?

Try Summits website or their catalog or a search :-)

Actually the ones I got were fine, seems there was a period (and maybe more than one) that Ford was putting larger o-rings on them.

Yes they do work, but they are a rated lower than the ones that came in GM vehicles so the fuel wont be exact, you will be running a little rich than normal.

GMs were rated at 22lbs @ 43psi, were as SVO injectors are 24lbs at 37.5psi. If you are into tuning your own chips, change the injector constant to match, you can use the search button and get some more results about this issue.

I believe that both chevy and ford use injectors that are rated at a flow of 43.5 psi. So a 24 lb. ford injector is just that, 24 lbs. at 43.5 psi.

I do suspect however that ford uses a lower fuel pressure in their cars, where as our chevys use ~ 43.5 psi.

I'm still not in agreement with that theory. I had to adjust my injector constant to ~33 on 30# Ford injectors to get the BLM's back in line, and this is the same thing I have seen many other people do with their 30# SVO's. I've also known of quite a few cars running rich on 24's going from 22's, and not being able to adjust it away with fuel pressure.

If you do a search, someone had Rich from cruizin (I think thats right) flow his injectors and supposedly the flowrate was from 43.5psi. I'm still not accepting that though, I know what I had to do with my 30's with no other changes.

madmax..I have 30s also and my injector constant is at 32.9 as well. After much trail and error thats what the motor liked the best. so i know were your coming from.

I read that about rich also....There were others as well on a different forum cant remember which.

Who knows.....

Even with calculations, the injector constant might not be exactly what is in the car. It's usually easier to lean/richen the fuel across the entire band by changing the constant a little, then fine tuning.

Also, you must add in the the fuel pressure to the equation. My adjustable fuel pressure regulator won't go below 50psi, so coupled with 24# SVO injectors, which I personally believe are rated at 39.5 from what I have read, would be about a 27# injector constant. However, my car doesn't like that much fuel, it was running rich across the board, so I trimmed it a little before fine tunning.

That was me, and it depends. Rich told me he's seen various ford injectors be dead on at 43.5, and others at the 37psi or whatever. Maybe the small ones are rated at 37, and the larger at the sae standard?

Maybe its totally inconsistent, along with their o-ring sizes.
