More symptoms, still no answer, any ideas?

Alright guys, any help here is appreciated.

Car is running like crap.

When the car is cool, I can't really feel any distinct trouble, but I'm not gonna say it's running good. It's hard to tell. Once the car warms up, the problems get obvious.

The first symptom is that the car will NOT accelerate past 2500rpms while under part throttle about 25% of the time. Somtimes it does, other times I can almost put the pedal to the floor before it'll kick in and start accelerating.

For the past couple weeks, that was the only obvious problem. I thought power felt a little low, but sometimes it can be hard to tell for sure. I took it for a 20 spin last night and more problems surfaced. Even when the car is accelerating, it's sluggish. (once warm). At low rpms, it's still only showing up when it seems to stick at 2500. I was at about 60mph/3000 in "Drive" and I punched it WOT. I could kinda feel the car accelerating, but it took about 7 or 8 seconds to get to 4500 rpms where I let off. Now at 3000 I'm in the FAT part of the curve, and I normally have gobs of accelleration. This was obvious and unmistakable. Somthin' ain't right.

By the time I got it home, it was just losing power all over. It's still quick, but there's NO DOUBT it's got a problem.

I had a fuel gauge hooked up, and I was getting a solid 40lbs. at the rail, so I'm thinking the pump and filter are OK. I'm gonna bypass the MSD and take it for a spin tomorrow.

I'm thinking maybe injectors?
Does this sound like maybe a sensor issue? TPS maybe?

Just looking for ideas on what to do.

If you're not getting any codes, I don't think it's a sensor issue. How's the rest of your ignition system? Could be a burned or several burned plug wires. Try running the car at night in the dark and pop the hood. See any arcing around the wires or coil? How's the ignition module and pickup coil on the distributor?

hmmmm, this sounds like a pick up coil issue. something we looked for as a problem on my car (which still isn't running) from what I understand when it is cold it will be ok, but as soon as the car gets warm it can do funky things. does it act like it is missing irratically? injectors could be a little screwed up depending on there life to this point, they can also do some interesting things after they warm up as well. have you ohmed your injectors to check if they are all in a good range? I would check out your pickup coil though first. from what it sounds like.

Converter is about 1000 miles old, if that. I've driven cars with clogged converters, and it does feel the same except that this is showing symptoms at specific RPMs, where the clogged converter is all the time.

The pick-up coil could certainly be the problem. I also have a hot-start issue that I've been dealing with for awhile, which could also point to the pick-up coil. I'll check that out, or better yet, replace it.

...No codes. So I guess that means no sensor issue?

Unhook the converter and go for a ride!
