Original Gasket Removal ideas

I'm in the process of replacing my fuel injectors on my 1991 LB9 and have found that removing the original lower intake runner gaskets a big PITA. I'm the original owner and know that the intake runners have never been off. Does anybody have any ideas/hints as to make this job any easier? I have tried a razor blade, thin knife, gasket scraper but the gaskets just seem to break apart and adhere to the runner. Can I soak them in something? I tried putting on rubbing alcohol, throttle body cleaner and WD40, but not much difference. Maybe I need to soak them overnight? I'm trying not to scratch the aluminum, but I'm not able to remove the old gaskets without scraping them off.

Thanks

Well obviously the old gasket needs to be removed,
so the new replacement gasket can properly seat ..

You shouldnt really worry about scratching the backside/gasket
side of the runner. As long as you dont "gouge" or severely nick
the aluminum, It should be fine to apply whatever force to remove
the old gasket.

Id try emery cloth, or a brass/steel wire brush with a
petroleum based solvent, I also would try your methods
again with a different solvent

Put alil muscle into it !!

Just my 2 cents

For gaskets that just won't quit, I use a wire bristle brish wheel on an air grinder VERY CAREFULLY. Normally just a light touch here and there is all that's needed to take off a large section of gasket that otherwise is determined to ruin your project. For the really tough stuff, I use the brush wheel a little more liberally, but it will very slightly and gently "Brush Scratch" the surface your removing the gasket from.

I've always been nervous about applying chemicals to the aluminum that these intakes were cast out of after a very bad "Castrol Super Clean" experience years back. It removed the grease alright.... as well as eating entire surfaces away and putting "Pits" into the rest of the manifold.

This is why I mentioned a petroleum based solvent.
Any harsh chemicals like bathroom cleaners and other
potent "super-cleaners" could easily pit, discolor and
pretty much ruin the aluminum.
