Fixing runner dents witha ball bearing trick?
I've heard of a ball bearing trick to get rid of dents in runner. You're supposed to force the ball through and the dents pop out. What do you use to push it throguh? I want to try this for my exhaust headers but dont know of anything to push it with.

I know somebody makes a "tool" which is a set of steel ***** that get progressively bigger. You start with the smallest one that wont fit through, and just force them through with a hammer until you get to the biggest one which is the diameter of the runner. Might want to search for that, sorry I can't remember where I saw it.

37mm is the largest ball that will pass through...and will not make the runners perfect. 38mm is barely too large to pass through.
I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that the professionals use steel *****. If they do, then that's only part of the process. I had Street and Performance remove dents from my runners and the markings inside the runners, where the dents were, had indication of a side to side rocking motion. They must be using a smaller ball on a hardened rod to massage the dents out. They also blast the runners with steel shot to produce a finish that resembles the Corvette runners. This abrasive finish looks good and covers up any scratches and very, very small dings.

I think I would be looking around for replacement runners...and driving a bearing through a set of dented headers...no thanks...I would rather replace or live with it than endure the nightmare I envision.
