replacing 305 with 383, identify some parts off old motor
three things i need identified right now...there is a black box connected to the pass side of the plenum (pic 1) what is that for?
next is a black piece with a couple vacuum hoses running to and from it (pic 2). its located right next to the coil, what is that?
finally what is the sensor ocated under the plenum used for?

The black box is your MAP sensor.
The second thing you mentioned is a vacuum check valve for the HVAC/cruise.
The IAT sensor is located under the plenum.

thanks for the help. i was told however the second part was the egr soleniod...its vacuum lines run to the egr under the plenum.

Your second picture (pic 2) does not appear in your original post. There is only one picture file attached to this thread.
I was making an educated guess from the information you supplied about the unknown part. Yes, the EGR solenoid is also in that area and has lines running to the EGR valve.
