SLP CAI for Speed Density

Anyone who this this setup did you notice any gains? Also what exactly comes in the kit? Do you get all new air ducting or just the new filter box? Thanks in advance. Pictures would be great from those that have it.

It comes with another factory duct tube to my surprise. I was just as well off to cut some extra holes in my round air cleaner canister I thought.

I made a cold air intake with PVC piping. I'll snap pics when my car is assembled, but it took 2 90* bends and 3 feet of piping, total cost was like $8. Then I cut a hole where the air cleaner sat before so the cone filter could get air that blows past the passenger side fog light. I didn't notice any difference but I did a few mods at the same time so I'm not really sure. But it now: 1. gets cold air, 2. has less restriction at bends and larger piping, 3. looks better.

The problem with the SLP cold air package is it uses the factory rubber ducting. IMHO that is a big part of the air intake restriction.

I had one before on my IROC, it's not worth the money. Just make your own, or if you prefer the OEM look just buy their airbox and use the stock ducting.

Holloman, huh? I was stationed there before...

I was there from 93-97. I was a helo crew chief with the old 48th rescue squadron, but the 48th since closed in 1999. I was just in Alamogordo passing through this past June....I see the mall still sucks, Morris machine is still around, and why on earth did they put a Lowe's and Home Depot RIGHT next to each other. Oh well, I still enjoyed living there. I sure miss those open roads.

My SLP intake setup came with the air tube, 2 air boxes, 2 K&N Filters, radiator hose, thermostat housing and the short air intake tube that goes on the throttlebody.

I don't have anything to compare to on that car since it was a carbed car and I converted to SD TPI with heads and cam, full exhaust and the SLP intake all at the same time.
