Wich used MAF can fit on my GTA?!

I know someone that is selling a used MAF from a 305 TPI Camaro... The thing is it's that the part # says it's only for 86-87 TPI. Will it works with my 88 GTA 305 TPI anyway? Even if it's not the same part #? Because sometimes company changes the # but that's the same part...

Thanks!

PS: I need a straight answer. No guess... Because I don't have much cash to spend and I don't wan't to buy a MAF that won't works right or at all with my car.

My '89 ran just fine with the maf sensor from my '86 in it, and vise-versa. As far as I know they are the same part number.

Because the MAF from the guy is GM part #14094712... Web sites says that it fit 86-87 Camaro/Firebird with TPI only. So will my 88 GTA work with that?

Anyone else can confirm. I don't wan't to spend 200$ for the fun...

Ummm, you're paying $200 for a used MAF?? Why don't you try going to the parts store... You can get a reman MAF with a warranty for less than that...

It's because it's near new. The guy used it 2-3 times. GM sell it for 756$ (canadian) here... So I think it's a pretty good deal for an original one. I just wan't to know if it will work since this # say on the 'net it's for 86-87 TPI...

Hmmm, I made some calls today and the cheaper ones are around 500$ (canadian)...

So anyone know if a 87 TPI MAF would work on my 88?

The part # says it's for 86-87 but I would like to know for sure... If it works I'll buy it it's cheaper and it's near new...

Holy cow man, go to ebay or something. You can get an adjustable aftermarket MAF with a lifetime for like 250 bucks US!

The engineer that help design the system at gm told me that they function exactly the same. I relayed this info to you. I have interchanged them many times with vette's and fbodys. I don't know why the numbers are different. It does not matter to me. If you are in doubt, I would suggest you put the same one on the car that it calls for.
