tpi head question

Will the newer 081 heads bolt up to a block that came with the older 416 heads? I know one is from a roller 1 piece motor and ther other is from a 2 piece non-roller block.

The heads will bolt to the block. You may need to modify four of the intake base's bolt holes to get the middle bolts to hold the intake to the heads. Pretty much any SBC head will bolt to a SBC block.

Yes you'll need a drill. You have to make sure the 4 middle bolt holes line up from the intake to the heads.

how is that? The extra 89' lower intake i have was originally bolted to 083 heads which has the same bolt patern as 081 correct? I dont see how they wont line up.

On heads that came off a one piece roller block the inner 4 intake bolts are vertical to make them easier to get at. The older 2 piece style they where angled the same as the outer bolts.

You were mixing model years with casting numbers, so that was unclear what you were wanting to do. If you already had the answer then why ask the question?

sorry for the confussion. I guess I was just concerned that an intake from a 1 piece engine woudnt work on a 2 piece block w/ 1 piece engine heads (081). There is some sort for metal sheet that bolts on to the newer intake over the lifter valley that isnt on my older intake.
