water pump question on TPI

You MAF guys, does your water pump have an outlet on the top of it that goes back to the heater core? If so, does the outlet have a 45 or 90 deg elbow? Thanks
Tony

My '86 TPI has no hose there. The outlet port where a hose would normally exits has a hex plug installed. The pump is original, and has not been altered. 49K miles - 20 years old.

Doesn't the 3/4 heater line run to the IAC valve under the intake?

Heated coolant is tapped from a port in the crossover passage at teh front of the intake manifold. It is routed via a short hose to the lower front connection on the throttle body. After being pumped through the throttle body, it exits the hose connection on the right side and travels to the heater core. After flowing through the heater core, it exits the firewall via another short hose and connects to a steel standpipe just behind the right cylinder head. The steel pipe follows the countour of the firewall to the right subframe rail, and along the right subframe rail toward the front of the engine compartment. Near the right strut mount tower, the steel pipe connects to a 26" hose that returns the coolant to the hose bibb on the radiator, just below the filler neck.

Just below the filler neck I have the small tube, I thought that went over to the over flow tank though. I understand the routing now, tomorrow I will start to re-route and make the correct lines for the TPI. I am almost done with this carb to TPI swap, maybe another 2 days and she will kick over with a new tranny, engine, and TPI :-)

The tube isnt small, if its a small (like 1/4") tube, that is for the overflow. There's a larger, 3/4" on the radiator. You may not have that, might be the issue.

86Z, got the pic, thanks. I am taking it into the radiator shop tomorrow and have them replace the plastic end cap with a TPi model with the extra inlet. Thanks guys
