MAF TPI connector - ???

can someone please tell me what this goes to? I am doing carb to tpi swap and still haven't figured out the purpose of this connector yet, thanks

now a close up

The manual only refers to it as an engine connector. It is in the ECM wiring harness right there near ESC.

There are two connectors that go to the distributor,,, have you identified both of those connectors?

BTW, I do have a connector that goes to nothing on my '87 TPI, and it is located exactly where you have that connect, behind the engine (mostly on the drivers side) and its a two prong connector.

Doc - I have found both small plug in connectors for the dist, battery and tach. I also have connected the 4 plug to the dist. That is great to hear you have an empty plug, I believe this to be an 87 harness as well, THANKS!

I believe it plugs into the chassis harness that comes out of the driver side firewall.

Man I just dont recognize that plug.... Not anything related to TPI anyway, must be something for the chassis harness.

OK, we'll see what doesn't work tomorrow when I go to start it. Everything else has a home except that. I did not get the drivers side TPI harness becuase I was told by all that I did not need it, just the ECM and its harness were required to do the swap. I will look through the service manual on the drivers side harness and see if it is on there also and what it leads to. Thanks guys

I found the location of this connector. It has 2 wires that lead to it from the drivers side harness. They come from the oil pressure switch and ECM B8. They connect to the drivers side harness and go to the gauges.
