Porting

Anyone care to reccommend a 'porting' shop? Specifically for plenum/base
and runners.....hopefully somewhere in Arizona.....Thanks ahead of time.

No, SLP runners (soon), an edelbrock base, stock plenum.

I dont know about the AZ area. Im pulling my S/R off in the next few days, and having it ported locally. I did get a estimate off of ExtrudeHone, for $679.00. But that was for a S/R. Your setup might be cheaper, but not by much I suppose.

Hmmmmm.....Am I that far out of it, or does that just seem high?

No , your with it, thats way too high. Lingenfelter wants even more for porting. Id say try Arizona Speed and Marine, but they are probably the same.

Yeah, tried them first, but never get a response either live, via e-mail or
messages. Tells me what I need to know....next!

It may come to that....unfortunately, unlike Mick Jagger, time isn't on my side.

Look for a local maching shop with someone who does heads.

Or look for someone who just ports heads and intake.

they are there, just have too look.

Its worth it if u can find someone who will do a good job for cheap.

Other than that, do it yourself or find someone on the boards near you who can give u a hand.

Its not hard, more time consuming than anything if u havent done it before. I've done heads intakes, runners and plenums. doing a whole set with air tools and all my bits still would take me the better part of a day for what I end up doing.

Extrude hone is expensive, but I can almost promise you, that thing will flow about as good as humanly possible when u get it back.

later
