Fuel injectors for 500HP 383 with 150NOS on top of that
Like the topic says im looking for what size fuel injector i will need for my car. The motor alone will make about 500HP, i am also planning on putting a 150 shot of nitrous on top of that, so then 650. I currently have 30 pound injectors, i got them before i decided on the nitrous, but they are brand new so i can return them. I have also like the ford racing injectors, but they don't come in 36# flow ratings, would the 42# injectors be too large? I know i will have to do tuning either way, but i want what is best for the engine, then tune it perfectly. What about racetronix? Are there injectors of the same reliability?
I dont know what size injectors you need but if its a wet nitrous setup, then the nitrous kit will supply its own fuel when you hit the switch. Then you just need to figure out how much fuel for the engine.

The 30's are on the small side for 500hp to begin with. The 42's would be small for the 650 if it's a dry shot that doesn't boost the pressure regulator.
The 42's on an adjustable regulator set at about 55+ psi would be about enough, but doing it with a factory ECU isn't easy by any means. What kind of nitrous kit will you be using? If you're using a dry kit that boosts the fuel pressure when nitrous is on, you can just size your injectors for the naturally aspirated power level (36's would be close to enough).

I was thinking about going with the wet nitrous setup from NOS
EDIT: Im going to convert that set-up to dry nitrous.

I come up with about 39# needed for 500hp. The 42#s would be your best bet if that's the only size larger.

After doing some further reading, a wet system isn't as safe or reliable with a superram, so i am going to covert the wet system to a dry system. So all the fuel distribution will be left up to the injectors. What size now? I do have an AFPR, but i don't want to set it too high, especially if the nitrous kit is going to increase the fuel pressure.

Specifically when using the superram, which has a very large plenum compared to other tpi systems, a wet system which injects fuel before the superram, will tend to have the fuel puddle up in the superram. There are good articles on it that i just finished reading in the power adder board.
So as far as the injectors go........500 HP + 150 dry nitrous.....What do you guys think?

650hp requires ~51# injectors, but not sure how that would work out when not spraying.
Have you checked into NOSs nossles; they spray fuel and nitrous directly into each cylinder head port.

The ZEX dry kit will boost the fuel pressure during nitrous, if I recall correctly. I've never used it. That would let you size injectors for the NA motor. Read up on the power adder board for the nitrous questions.
