Did I blow the head, or the motor? Pic links inside...

Yesterday I was driving around and power has been down lately. Like I can't even spin the tires from a stop anymore. And the motor sounded fine, but acceleration was like half-***. I also was noticing a tick sound like an exhaust leak and I was going through coolant like crazy. Every 2 days I had to refill.

So anyway it blew....here are links to the 4 pics I took:

Pic 2

Pic 4

Those ^^ pics are about 1 hour after I turned off the engine. When it was running it was just bubbling and oozing and popping out. In Pic 4 you can see the coolant/oil mix just pooling under the tpi.

So anyway. Do you think the motor is ok? The engine never overheated. It hit the 220 mark, but never above that. Do you think I just blew a head gasket?

The heads were the 081 305 heads, so I am looking at 083 heads. If anyone has a set preassembled and in good shape let me know.

That looks nasty and milky.

Means coolant is mixing with oil most likely.

Could be an intake gasket leaking inside and out. Or its a headgasket.

Kind of hard to go by your pics and descrips. Try doing a compression test and see what you get.

head gasket should show up where its not holding together or lbledding to adjacent cylinders.

Also should be able to see which cyl are affected by what your plugs look like.

Oh yeah, that green milk is definate oil and coolant inbreeding .

The spark plugs will be the first place to look.

As for a compression test, how much does that cost? Does the engine need to be running for that?

You may want to pull the plugs. If you discover that their are 2 plugs next to each other that are equaly dirty you may have blown the head gasket.

I'll put my money on an intake leak. A head gasket shouldn't get you coolant/oil up there.

Just need to pull the plugs, disable the coil and fuel pump. Then you just install the compression tester and turn the motor over. Another way is to put air into the cylinder and make sure the valves are closed listen for escaping air from the intake or exhaust.

Very similar symptoms to a blown head gasket like my dodge truck, boy that was fun to fix
