Fuel pump relay is either on the fire wall or under the dash on the passenger side. It may be just a fuse...

Which one did you check? Did you check the fuse near you're battery as well?

Couple things to check here, first check the fuse by the battery, look for a connector with 2 heavy orange wires on it there is a 20 amp fuse in there.
A quick way to tell is to turn the key to on, if the ses light doesn't light up that fuse is most likely blown.
The fuel pump relay is on the firewall by the brake booster there are 3 relays there, one with 4 wires(burn off relay), and 2 with 5 wires, the fuel pump relay has a green/white wire in the bundle.

Hope this helps

First thing to do is make sure the pump works. 12v to the G terminal of the ALDL will get that out of the way. What year car?

the engine light was not on. it was a single wire coming from the front of the car with a single connection that was disconnected. now the pump is pumping and the car starts but now the engine light is on and whenever i touch the gas the car tries to shut off at the slightest touch. atleast now i got fuel.
anyone got any more suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.

I would start by checking the codes.

I had a bad injecotor that made the car work like that . Barely starts , hit the gas and she would die . Ohm out the injectors

the wiring to your vats module might be bad. if its not gettin the correct voltage then it wont let your fuel pump engage.

If you changed the pump already...

-Check the fuel filter, might be clogged?
-Check your pressure regulator, might be weak or torn

If your preasure drops quickly it's either the regulator or a leaky injector .
