Guess I'll ask over here since people use this forum right.

Can I just get a breather cap from the zone or something and bypass the Crank Case vent on the PASSANGER side of the engine on a 305tpi without problems? And just plug off the Throttle Body connector for the hose? Cause my elbow at the valve cover is all old and what not and i couldnt find a replacement. Unless someone knows where I can get a new replacement, can I just bypass it like this?

Dont bypass, just use 2 PVC's for now, untill a replacement is found.
I use 2 of them.

Ok, I know that the purpose is to recirculate fumes back through the intake to be burned but I am unsure on whether or not this will effect performance.

not with a MAF you can't, it would cause a problem with unmetered air.

you may be able to get what you need from the dealer.

you could take an old PCV valve & gut it, take a 90 degree boot off an old spark plug wire to connect the gutted PCV valve to the breather hose.

would that cause unmetered air anyway?? ether system gos in after the MAF. I ask because I am running with 2 PVC's.

One side, the one NOT connected to manifold vacuum, is supposed to be an open tube.

a breather type oil cap would cause unmetered air.

the thing about using 2 operational PCV valves is that they have check valves built into them to prevent a backfire into the crankcase, when at or near WOT they won't let the blowby out of the crankcase & can cause the dip stick to get pushed up out of the tube & spray oil out. if the dip stick doesn't get pushed up, it could cause oil leaks from the gaskets or crank seals

?? Im confused here. On my tpi 305, the drivers side valve cover is the one with the pcv valve, which is connected to the intake for it's vacuum source. The Passanger side which is what Im talking about is the side that is just a hose going from a rubber elbow, to the pipe that attaches and runs along the base of the intake, then back to a hose that connects to the throttle body AFTER the MAF.

ok, let me see if i have this right. the passanger side is the vent, and the driver side is the PCV. this vent, does it allow air out (like the PCV) or allow fresh air in to the crankcase? if it does allow fresh air, where does this fresh air come from? if i could switch the non-PCV side to a vent, and still maintain a properly functional PCV system i will, just to run one less hose

This is basically what Im saying. I am just unsure on if it will cause a vacuum leak if it's sucking, or it it's just a vent already going back into the TB to just recycle unburned fumes in the crankcase. If it is just a vent recirculating fumes, then I don't see why I couldn't just put a breather cap over it and ditch the hose, but I'm not 100% sure that's why I'm asking if anyone ever did it with no problems.

if you have a mass air flow(MAF) sensor, you can not run a breather type oil cap, it will cause the motor to get unmetered air which will make it run lean.

Can you please explain how it would be unmetered air? This vent hooks into the throttle body which is after the MAF. I'm not talking about getting rid of the PCV ont he drivers side, I'm talking about the vent tube on the passanger side valve cover and replacing it with a breather. I'm curious to know how the engine would know the difference.

the motor pulls air from the crankcase through the PCV valve, the crankcase should be vented to the throttle body or air boot which is after the MAF, a breather type oil cap doesn't hook up the the vent hose that goes to the throttle body or air boot, so all the air the PCV valve pulls into the intake is not metered.

or maybe im misunderstanding what type of cap your talking about, can you post a picture of it?
