sensor help on a tpi
first off, before people jump on me, i have searched quite a bit, and can't find what i need. does anyone have pictures of the different sensors on the tpi, IE: egr, cts, map, maf, tps, etc. i just want to make sure i know what i am looking at. i have a jeep with a transplanted (not by me) 305 TPI, and i want to make sure i know what sensors are what before i start changing **** around. thanks everyone

i think the best thing to do is get a good repair manual for what year TPI setup you have, that way you'll have any wiring diagrams & trouble shooting trees you may need too

yea
I have been wanting to do that, but seeing as that i dont know what year the motor is, and i can't seem to find the data plate on the motor (either due to stupidity or it not being there) i am unsure of what book to buy. are all TPI's the same? i can't even really determine if i have map or maf because i dont know where the sensors are supposed to be. i think 85-89 305 tpi is my best guess right now. the block is stamped like cfi 551 or some ****, but i assume that is for the block only

look on the ECM,.. it should have some numbers on it, the number will look something like 1227165, or 1227730. it could be some other number, but these should give you an ideal of what to look for.
a MAF system has a sensor in the air intake boot, its hard to miss.

thats what i had been under the assumption of. there are no sensor before the intake manifold. the air box/hoses have none. the first sensors are in pretty much on the opposite side of the plenum from the throttle/tranny cable hookups. there are 2, one facing forward and one facing out to the passenger side, lower than the forward facing one
