New Dyno numbers after winter of work
After a long winter of work I got my car up and running and recorded some new dyno numbers with the changes that I made. I took the engine appart because the low tension oil rings that I had burned too much oil (one quart per 400 miles) and I replaced them with standard tension oil rings. While the car was appart I changed the cam from the 219 to the ZZ-409 basically because I had it laying around from a previous engine build and I wanted to see how it would work with the superram. The end result is the car idles and drives great and it has a little more power. The previous best on the old combination was 338 RWHP @ 5200 RPM and 382 RWTQ @ 3900 RPM. The changes from the old combination to the new are 3.45 gears were changed to 3.91 gears, the cam was changed from the 219 to the zz-409 and the rings were changed from low tension to standard tension. The new power numbers are 346 RWHP @ 5400 RPM and 382 RWTQ @ 3900 RPM.
While the gains were not huge I am still pleased with the results, the car no longer burns oil and it picked up some power without loosing any torque.
