TB bypass and breather ???
Hi, I just bypassed the cooling lies that went to my TB. Now here are my questions.
1st. What should I do with the two openings on my TB now. Should I cap them, or plumb them for more cold air??? What did you do??
2nd. In the picture below this hose goes from the valve cover to the TB. Now, pulled it off the TB and there was oil there??? I don't think thats good. Should I just yank that and put in a breather there??? What did you do, and what do you suggest???

First, You can just leave the coolant barb fittings open - wont hurt anything.
Second, Leave the tube running from the valve cover to the throttle body there. It provides fresh air to the crankcase when the pcv system is functioning correctly. It is normal to have a little oil inside the tube.

Do you think a breather would help it more???
I failed emissions, and I know one of the tricks is to take out the PCV valve to let the engine breathe more. I thoght I could possibly cheat the system with a gutted breather or sumtin.
Hmmm.

Do you have the numbers from the test?
I would guess if you had a malfunctioning pcv system it would give you high HC but if your state does not require a visual inspection then a breather would be ok. Only problem is that when the pcv valve is not open the breather will let oil vapor out and it just kindof stinks and gets on stuff.

putting a breather in place of the pcv system will help the emission test because it wont go back through the engine and out the tail pipe. but it will infact put out more emission through the breather because it is not being put through the combustion process. although the pcv system is alot better than the breather system for the engine itself because it puts a vacum on the crankcase to help ventalate it rather than just pour it out. so if you dont have a visual inspection just put a breather in there and then after you pass the test, hook the pcv system back up.

i have a problem with that same line pictured at the top of the thread. when it was attached to the TB the other end would blow out of the valve cover. i replaced the grommet with a new one that held it tighter and it still pops out. so i got a breather to put on it and there is smoke coming out of it. why is it doing that and how do i fix it?

have you tried replacing the pcv valce itself, might have been plugged up and instead of sucking it back in through the intake, it was forced out by the ventalation.

well the pcv rattles so the valve is good. it's probably what you said about clogged with sluge. time for an oil change anyway.

no im still here, i just ignored his question, because it seemed irrelivant to this tread, maybe he would have directed his question toward me more, it would have made a little more sense, but anyway, i have no answer to your question because i have the lpe cam and an msd billet distributor, and i used the gear it came with, and i dont know what kind of gear that is, sorry
