GTA Dyno Results

the good boys at CAM strapped my car down for a couple pulls today on the ol dyno.

TPI's HATE heat... as you can see. The first pull was right off the street. second was letting it cool down for a while.

figuring 20% DT loss thats 275hp/392tq??

woot 8)

Man those are some nice numbers for what you have done, especially the torque! If you were to ever port the upper part of the runners, and port match the lower to 45mm with a ported aftermarket baseplate (also 45mm), you might be some serious trouble for mod'ed LT1's! Okay okay, so I'm just saying what I would do if in your position, but still - NICE NUMBERS!

Respectable numbers to be sure, but they seem kind of on the low side to me. I just dynoed my '88 IROC last Saturday and it put out 212hp and 290 torque with just exhaust and 1.6 rockers. The exhaust isn't even a 3" exhaust either. Everything else 100% stock.

I'd think with a cam, runners, a ported plenum, and a full 3" exhaust you'd be putting out way more than just 8 hp and 24lbs of torque more than me.

Either your numbers are a bit low, or mine are unusually high.

How's the car run? Is it the stock programming ? What was the ambient temperature during the pull? Something's not right here....

Mint looking GTA by the way. Looks mean!

eh it needs a tune and it runs rich. I mean to clarify, I haven't done anything to this car myself yet aside from replacing the loudmouth with an aerochamber. the previous owner(s) did all this work and this was just a baseline to see how its running.

I dont know anything about the programming farther than the previous owner stuck a hypertech in (bleh) when the stock one died. its got bigger accel injectors(bleh) and theres just a few little things that need to be done to get her runnin right (maybe some upgraded electrical stuff) but anywho the ambient temp was anywhere from 70-80...

The motor in my 89 camaro before the blower was a Stock 350 with just an LPE216 cam 213/219 465/472 112. With stock prom, stock intake & heads it went 238 RWHP and 339 RWTQ

nice.

I bet there was more there if I had time to play with it. I mean just letting it cool for 20 minutes netted 10+. As a baseline I'm happy it was more for verification and to settle a few questions I had about the car.

honestly I didn't know what to expect so I cant say its low but I was guessing it would be a little higher. oh well next time
