Fuel lines

Will the steel fuel lines on my lg4 camaro work with the tpi setup I'm putting on? Will I be able to just get High pressure lines from there to the fuel rails?

Well I'm not 100% positive, but as far as I know, as long as you have a new pump capable of flowing enough fuel, the lines, assuming they're not old school runner lines, should be fine.

I'm gonna buy a new pump to flow at least 45 psi. I just notice everone talking about changing the fuel lines out from tank to fuel rails if car came stock with carb. I figure why do that if you can use the lines that are there. Is there a certain size line needed to run with the high pressure pump? What do you mean by old school runner lines?

oops, I meant "rubber" lines!!!!

...I think that's what people mean when they say you can't re-use the fuel lines from a carbed car. If your lines are steel/metal and not rubber, then I don't see why you can't use 'em....

....but I'm not the expert, so I'd double check it.

Steel lines should be fine, any rubber you have should be replaced. I thought carbed cars didn't have a return line though.

I think it might be some rubber from the tank to the lines on the body. What kind of lines should I use to replace these?

Lines

Parts store.
Rubber- Hi pressure- gas approved lines, 3/8.
Could be 5/16 but I used 3/8 and double clamps.
In that short a span don't know if Hi pressure lines
needed but pays to be safe.

I just did a search on "fuel lines".

Not that I doubted JayKar, but apparently several people have used rubber hi-pressure lines with no problems.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the help you guys have provided me. Will I have to drop the tank to change the rubber lines from the tank to the frame?

One of the best places to score fuel lines that'll work with a tpi setup is from one of the fuel injected V6 f-bodies, which are all over the place in most junkyards. The V6 multi-port fuel injection on the 2.8 and the 3.1 engines required the same high fuel pressure as the V8 tuned port cars, so the fuel lines are virtually identical. Those cars are your best bet for finding the correct fuel lines easily and for a cheap price to boot.
