yes, but it's probably not your problem...is your ses light on? if so scan it for trouble codes, and if it isn't on right now, scan it anyway could have a stored code. If there is a code, record it, then look up what the code means. There is a chart on the main page here under the FAQ's i believe. Check all your plug wires and your plugs first..check your base timing by disconnecting the est connector on the passanger side at the firewall. Do a search on setting the timing and you will find lots of info on how to do it. Good luck and report back..

The codes are 36, 42,
I have been haveing problems with the MAF burn off for a while now (new relay, and plug) but the code keep coming up, still working on it. I am going to a search and see what else to look into.
Code 42 is new and it is the ESC module, so I will replace it with the one for the 350, so I hope it will take care of that code.

Throwing parts at the problem might fix it, but it'll cost more money and take longer then properly diagnosing the problem. Stop taking shots in the dark and get a Helm/GM shop manual for your year vehical and follow the troubleshooting charts.
You problem sounds more like an IAC or TCC issue then anything to do with the knock sensor. You could disconnect the knock sensor completely and it would still run.

The knock sensor and E-prom are for the 350, but the ESC is not, its for the 305. Could this combo be a problem as far as runing right?
Thanks for all the help guys.

Right off hand I would say that it shouldn't matter, however, it certainly wouldn't hurt to upgrade to the correct sensor. I still don't think it'll fix the problem you're trying to resolve.

let me get this straight!
did you just ask if an exaust rattle set off the knock sensor.
sorry dude to chuckle
listen to some of the senior members on this board like drew when he tells you to get a helms manual for your ride if you intend to work on it yourself instead of taking it to a shop
believe me it is sound bulletproof advise
thanks again for the funny
