ECM from TPIparts
Has anyone used an ECM from TPIparts.net? All other parts that I have got have been top notch, and the people are top notch as well, anyway has anyone got one and used it, because I need a new one (just looking for some feedback on the ECM's)
Thanks.
Thanks.

I haven't purchased an ECM from them but I have gotten a bunch of other stuff from them with great results. I can't see an ECM being any different. Can't you find a reman. locally?

In my book.....remaned=junk...The 1st one wouldnt even start the car, this one has the SES light nonstop flashing, thats why I was looking at the TPIparts one, I would think the ECM's would be as good as the rest of there parts.
Thanks for the reply.

I've had the similiar issues a few times with reman. ecm's. Sometimes it takes 4 to get a good one. Just a word of caution..be very specific about the fact you want a brand new GM ecm. GM does sell remans over the counter as a GM reman. Fact is, they are all done by the same companies.....GM or a parts store.....its coming from the same place, so you need to be VERY specific to ensure you are getting a BRAND NEW GM ecm.

I just ordered a chip from them to get rid of egr, air, top speed, and fan times changed. Tried to get rid of my code 32 first but no luck so thats the next step for me. No more EGR

Yes, you can convert to a 7730. But why? If you have a perfectly good running MAF and only need the ECM, go to a wrecking yard and get the proper ECM.
If you live far from a wrecking yard or having difficulty in locating a used ECM for your car, we now have a group selling parts on a "Virtual Wrecking Yard". Go to the Board and send a PM to "RCAR7395".
Feel free to tell him that I referred you to him.

Well you can't just plug it in and use it. You have to re-pin the harness and wire in provisions for a MAP sensor. I did this swap on one of my cars and am very happy with it. I used TPI Parts to do the harness conversion. I highly recommend them.

After doing a search it is not Plug and Play (I should have checked my post sooner) searched the local bone yard, and they did not have one.
I will get the TPIparts one, I need to order other stuff also.
Thanks to all that posted,
joe
