TPI Swap, VSS issues?
HI all,
I'm going to be helping with a TPI swap and we're trying to get a good idea of how feasable this is going to be. The TPI setup will be swapped into a 4WD S-10 Blazer and I've been reading about VSS issues. Mostly that the TPI VSS signal is at 2000ppm I believe and the blazer has a 4000ppm signal. The trans from an F-body cannot be used because of the transfer case, and I know there are VSS components that can be replaced to have the proper signal, and third I've read of how to override the VSS signal all together. Is it possible to change the TPI VSS signal to 4000ppm instead of all the other hassle? I have PROM equipment, just not much knowledge/experience. Thanks in advance.

Yep, just use a VSS from a 90-92 thirdgen with a 700R4.

When you did your T56 swap what did you do about the VSS / ECM pulse differences? I ended up going with the Dakota Digital box. I alsoe went that route because of the 411 Moser rear I put in. Much easire than reprogramming the EXM...

A local guy machined the T56 tailhousing to use the stock T5 VSS unit. Sorry I cant find the pic.

So Kevin, you're still using my VSS? I guess it got some use seeing as how my WC T-5 swap didn't go too far!!

I'm the guy that you got that VSS from. Remember trading the non-electric VSS for the electric? You came to my pad, measured both to make sure, and I swapped you for free?
