Just gotmy self a 89 350 TPI w/ disk brake rear & Posi :)
So i ended up tracing the 86 for a 84 s10 lowered primered gay about 2 months ago or more( 2nd gear finally blew out too on the car so i let it go.) Now i just traded the s10 blazer for an 89 iroc hard top 350 TPI With the Borg (sp?) 9 bolt posi disk rear end very nice car but it has alot of little **** to do and a paint job the damn Vats is acting up so im going to bypass that asap
heres some pics the car actually has alot more clear peeling then the pics looks like it has but the TPI drives as fast as it looks

Yea its ok like i said really bad clear coat peeling and the 2 frong fenders have take a little tole but as far as the running gear its pretty good

Opps ment to say Gray but the gay worked too lol id rather have this TPi with chipping clear coat then a lil blazer with 5 different shades of primer all over

Could someone explain to me what the Vats is and what it does when it acts up? Sorry for the hijack. Nice car btw.

No problem man are you having a problem with vats or do you just want to know what it is? Im not shure if you have it in your i had an 86 and mine didnt have vats in it. But its basicly a silent alarm when you put your key in the ignition if it has the black chip looking thing in it it goes between 2 metal prongs, brushes ( some sort of metal touching both sides of the chip. this information is sent to the ecu or vats box ? im not positive but either onme read the information and if the resistance in the key matches that in the ecm or vats box your car will start if not( of if you have the common problem of the wire breaking on the lock cylander orany other vats problem the ecm sees the wrong resistance and locks out your starter (it might lock out more but i know when mine was tripping the car just wont crank period).

Oh ok thanks for the info. My car is giving me some problems and i was just wondering if that could be it. But im pretty sure my car does not have that feature.
