throttle body be bad?

hey i was talking to my father in law and he said that possibly my throttle body could be bad due to the excessive fuel consumption and overloading with gas??? anyone have opinion or fact upon this???
im thinking overload of gas would have to be due to lack of air getting into the motor?

Sounds more like you have some bad injectors, and they're leaking gas into the cylinders. Get an ohm meter and measure the resistance of each injector. It should be between 14-16 ohms. If you find any that are under 10, they're bad.
Another possibility is a bad rubber in the fuel pressure regulator. That will allow gas to leak past it.
