Re: 305 HELP

Search for 305 mods. You'll find lots of opinions.
First of all, you'll get "Put a 350 in it", which is probably the cheapest way to go.
I like 305 TPI engines. A little porting, little bigger cam, good exhaust, and some tuning will make a world of difference.

Re: 305 HELP

a good set of headers its not that cheap but will make a big initial difference in horsepower & torque and it will compliment your future mods even more. Definitely a worthy investment if you plan on keeping your car for sometime.

Re: 305 HELP

What is your car? TA or Z28? Manual or Auto? Posi rearend? What gears?
My suggestion to you is to make sure the car doesn't need anything before you start modding the 305. In the end you will get more satisfaction out of a car that is in tip top shape and needs nothing.
Besides your 305 TPI should be able to handle most imports from stop light to stop light.

Re: 305 HELP

i completely agree.

Even a healthy 305 is pretty quick. Just do some quick checks for instance: y-pipe exhaust leak, dirty air filter, wrong timing, etc..

I personally had a exhaust leak and they can rob you from a lot of hp (it may make your car sound louder/meaner but your performance will suffer)
