Comments on gain using 1.6 rockers on exh of zz3 cam and edelbrock heads?
Just curious if this is worth anything.
L98 TPI.
-ZZ3 cam with 1.6 rockers on intake, 1.52 on exhuast
-Edelbrock performer rpm heads
Would changing to 1.6 rockers on the exhuast be worth anything?
With 1.6 rockers = .544 lift
with 1.5 rockers = .510 lift
with 1.52 rockers = .5168 lift
Difference going to 1.6 is 5.3%.
According to flow numbers on Edelbrock, from 0.500 lift to 0.600 lift, there is 10 cfm (177 vs 187). Some heads have no gain or less than 5 cfm in this range, and therefore would reconise no gain with more lift. But since the edelbrock flow a bit more, the higher lift would be of assistance.
Comments anyone?
PS. Yes I have measured piston to vavle clearance and that is not a problem.

I dont think you'd gain enough to justify the cost. I used 1.65 and 1.52 roller rockers on my ZZ4 cam. The power is made on the intake side. You already have 1.6 rockers on there, so I wouldnt change it.

Actually I have 8 spare 1.6 rockers, so the cost is not a concern. I never had a set of heads that could handle the lift of 0.544, but now I have the edelbrocks, so it is a possibility.
I am going to be changing valve covers to something a bit flashy, so I will be "right there", hence my question about whether it was worth the time.
