Fuel injectors in a 91 305 TPI
See my post in the Tech/general engine forum for detailed background:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...-not-fuel.html
But my problem has definitely moved into the TPI realm.
I was running incredibly rich and narrowed it down to bad fuel injectors. I sent them to get cleaned. They were very rusy inside, 2 were bad and had to be replaced due to low resistance. They ohmed fine when I tested them 1 year ago but thats another story.
I asked the technician what pound rating my injectors were and was told 21#. I was under the impression that all 305's had 19# injectors. That is the impression I get from my search of the boards as well, except for this post where according to CruzinPerformance, a car of the same year and drivetrain as mine should have the 22#:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...ize-305-a.html
I'm farily certain my injectors are original if anybody could confirm that some 305's came with the 21/22# injectors, it would make me feel better about reinstalling them. Installing injectors that are too big isn't exactly going to help my problem with running rich.

I've never heard of a 3rd gen 305 running anything larger than 19# from the factory.

Re: Fuel injectors in a 91 305 TPI
I have an 87 IROC 305 that had the stock injectors when I bought it. A part number search on the internet showed them as being 20.6 lb/hr as I recall. I have also moved into the PROM programing world, and can state for sure that the stock PROM injector constant is 20.82 for my car. I know that most everyone on this board thinks that 305's all had 19 lb/hr injectors, but it seems that in 1987 they were closer to 21....

That is good to hear. I am unfortunately not yet at the level where I can check my injector constant and eliminate all doubt. Although I found out that when I was told what my injector ratings were, it was not through a specification in a catalog. The 21lb flowrate was based on a simulated injector test at 80% duty cycle and 6500 RPM. I an unsure as to whether this is a standard way of measuring injectors. In any case, because of the confusion, Accurate Injectors is going to pull a stock fuel injector for my car off their shelves and compare it to what i sent them. Then I will know for sure what came stock in my car. I'll be sure to update this post accordingly.

All 305's came with 19 lb/hr injectors. If you re-read the thread that was referred to, Five-0-motorsports were the ones that said 22 lb/hr were correct for the 305 not Rich @ Cruzin. Rich only stated that the Multecs weren't worth cleaning/flow testing.
