Ok if you started out with a stock 350 TPI and did the following mods how much HP would you about have and what do you think you would run on the 1/4 mile?
LPE SuperRam plenum runner kit
LPE SuperRam base intake manifold
LPE high flow TPI runners
LPE 52mm TB
LPE SBC EFI Camshaft
LPE high performance valve lifters
Comp Cams Hi-Tech stainless roller rocker arms
Comp Cams valve springs
Free RAM AIR thats in the tech section
March underdrive pulleys
Bigger fuel injectors
LPE modified mass airflow sensor
SLP headers
High flow cat
and finally a Borla catback
Thanks guys!

What year? I'd say that that's good for 160 hp..I may get yelled at for being 156 hp off so I am not sure. Don't get the modified MAF..save your money and buy cool stickers to show all the parts you bought

What about the heads? That would be my first mod. BTW, I might sell a set of brand new AFR 190s 58cc chambers this weekend.

I'm basically doing just that. I've gone to a 4 bolt block, eagle cast crank, 6" forged rods and piston to get about 11.1 compression. By substituting certain parts, (such as comp cams pro magnum 1.6rr's instead of hit tech rollers, and a local builder putting it together) I'm hoping to get close to what Lingenfelter gets out there L98 combos- about 440hp.

First of all, you NEED heads to make that setup effective. Good heads w/ an intake and cam to back it up will make the hp. As far as 160 hp, I think you should keep dreaming. And BTW, you don't need high flow runners. The ones that come w/ the Superam plenum must be used. The 219, AFR's and Superam would be rel nice, but it's expensive.

Calroc,
You're right, I guess I didn't read the first post carefully enough. I'm essentially mimicking the LPE 383 package and saving here and there are certain parts, My heads are being completely reworked with valves the same size that LPE uses. They are also being ported. I have the aluminum heads since this is a Vette, but they are not D-ports like LPE uses. The motor is being built locally by someone who buils race engines for local racetracks.

Monkie, no offence, but why did you ask this question.
The last I checked you had a 92 Maro V6 an were plannnig on Building a Turbo 6.
With that I would say without heads or cam your not going to see much at all, like maybe 50hp. Now you put a set of heads that can use the extra air flow, and a cam that will use the new RPM range of power provided with that setup and on a good 350 you looking at a possible 450hp depending on heads and cam selected. If on a 383, again depending on Heads/Cam you could get to around 550HP. These super ram set ups are made to flow huge amounts of Air to feed big/heavily modifid engines. I saw a Supercharged Formula 350 with that set up and a Vortech blower on it, not sure what heads or cam was in it, at Cars 2 NV here in Columbus and it had a dyno sheet of like 746 Rear wheel HP. It was featured in some magazine and had an issue of it in the car. It was forsale for $20,000. And worht every penny to

Maybe Monkie's considering other alternatives to a V6 turbo? That's fair and a smart thing to do. I think its wise to analyze ALL the costs for various swaps and determine what is the most cost effective (and easiest) to do.
Also, Monkie's state may have squashed his V6 turbo swap as "illegal" because of the year.
Monkie, if you are considering a swap to a V8, going carb will be the cheapest if you can legally do it. If not, consider going with SD over MAF as it is simpler to do. You can even reuse your ecm as it is the same for an SD TPI car; just need to get a SD TPI wiring harness or modify your existing one. Then, all you have to do is learn to burn your own eprom (plenty of us SD guys on the PROM board) and you are set.
As for the Superram, it doesn't have the nickname SuperPITA for no reason. It can be a bitch to install. And, frankly, it still is inferior to the MiniRam IMO.
Gotta love a one piece unit thats a snap to bolt on.

Because a turbo V6 was not an available option for the vehicle. A TPI in a monte carlo is illegal even though TPI is more efficient. The EPA exist to protect the interest of major corporations that pollute. The major corpaorations have and generate too much money to have restrictions put on them, so who does the EPA go after? Us, the common people. Cars now produce such minimal amounts of pollution that they do not have a significant impact on the environment, unless the vehicle spills its fluids and upsets the eco system.

Test are done on emissions passin out the exhaust by the year, make and model of you car. So all monkie has to do is say he put a Turbo on his 3.1. The turd running the tester isn't going to know the difference between a 3.1 and a 3.8 block. Hell I dont even know if I would know.
Monkie if you can find a parts car the Turbo 6 is a much better, and cheaper, option.
