ET estimate after mods.
Im figuring a low 14 and possibly a 13.9 right now. Im setting codes and all the mess. This spring break I want my headers, on gutt cats, custom ram air, and maybe clean injectors, and a badlly needed tune-up, Im hoping a Mid to a possible low 13. What do you guys think.
I really want to shut up this punk from my school with a 00 SS he calls my car a piece of Sh^t and slow. and All I can come back with is "At least I can respect my car because I payed for it" now I want to smoke him!!

Chris, Chase here. I think you'll kick his *** if we can get all these things done over the break. I'm here to help out, and hopefully we can shut that little b*tch Zody up for good. Peace out...
P.S.- Your car is badass, but we'll see if it can hold with mine...hehe..

Drop the borla catback and get a hooker aerochamber, it is more flow and more power. Is his car stick? If it is it will be close, get a intake and maybe a cam and it should be close. Just remember your down almost 100 hp to start with. You should advance your timing to about 8 BTC and perhaps if your header size is below 1 1/4 get SLP. After that he should be 2 cars behind you pouting his little rich *** off = )

You truly are kidding yourself if you think that your car will beat an 00 LS1 SS. You are down about 80hp. Headers, Catback, Ram-Air, and other small mods will only get you about 30-35hp (contrary to popular belief). With the mods that you have you will be lucky to get a high 13. On my 1990 IROC with EVERY bolt-on imaginable (ram-air, 52mm TB, ported plenum, AS&M LTRs, TPIS Big Mouth, 1.6 Crane Golds, SLP headers, gutted cats, Flowmaster catback, 3.73's, AFPR, Pullies, Ignition, blablabla) I was running 13.6's @ 102mph. 00 LS1 SS's will run 105mph right out of the box. Several of them have gone 107-108mph with just the airbox mod. Same drivee in both cars the LS1 SS will easily run faster ... absolutely no doubt about it. You'll get killed unless he sucks at driving.

Just for reference a guy in MAFB at our Dragathon with an '01 WS6 ran a 12.76@110.05 with nothing more than an airbox lid and Drag Radials. I know him and I personally watched him run. Absolutely mind-numbing how fast these cars are right out off the showroom floor.

I need to run where you guys run. Very few of the LS1s here run that good without mods. Maybe mid 13s at 102 - 104 stock. Some are lucky to run 13s at all (one guy kept saying he runs mid 13s with his '00 WS6, but the best we ever saw over several sessions was 13.99 @102- he generally ran 14.1 - 14.2. Guy probably couldn't drive though.
Other than what was mentioned above (force induction or blue bottle
) the best way to beat an LS1 is to get a good set of heads and a better cam. Doing that levels the playing field and most stock LS1s will see nothing but your 3Gen ****.
Sparks a flyin.

Ive had a few people ride in my car and swear that it is a low 14 sec, high 13 sec car.
BTW 01's are faster than 00's and his is an Auto.
I guess the only way is to run it and find out.

It sucks that he makes fun of your car, but you will need heads/cam/intake, nitrous or a blower to beat him. Regardless get some drag radials on your car.
Good luck

Your best bet of torching him is heads, cam, Vigilante converter and slicks. Toss that onto your intake mods, exhaust mods and perhaps a custom chip and it should be no problem to beat a stock auto LS1.

Black91,First off nice name and welcome to the board
The SLP package was a performance package available on 91-92 Firebirds with TPI from the dealership.SLP www.slponline.com was the suplier of the parts and the parts were available from them since 1988.The package consisted of Siamesed intake runners,1 3/4 headers, stainless 3 inch exhaust, and optimized PROM,their was also a cold air induction w/K&N airfilter was available but was not included in the package. It was $2000,and $300 aditional for the cold air.The package according to SLP gave an improvement of 50 horsepower at 5500rpm.I have an old issue of hot rod where they installed the package on a 88 Firebird 350 and it took 9 tenths off ET and added 6mph.I also have an issue of MoterTrend where they tested a Black 91 5.7GTA(that article made me fall in love with GTA's and always made me want a Black 91,I came close I think you can also read it on www.gtasource.com.I have the complete package on my car(minus the headers, they are a PITA and $),some free mods,an SLP flowbooster,SLP crank pulley,an adjustable fuel regulator,160t-stat,SLP wires, high voltage coil, and module, plus a torque converter and shift kit.Alot of people mix and match parts, but I like to stick with as much to 1 company as I can so everything is in balance, and SLP has some great stuff. The times in my sig are a G-tech,so the mph probably 1-3 mph high, but my ET is probably even better, especially if I had dragradials.Bone Stock when I first bought the carI ran 14.3@96 at the track(with 24psi in the rear). Its not 9 tenths, but its definately an improvement, and I am very happy with the car.(It has tremendous torque, chirps the tires at 1/4 throttle, and Iven beaten a friends LS1 auto Z from a slight roll at the stoplight among other whoopa$$es
My car spins way to much from a dead stop with the stock tire pressure. If I decide to keep it,(Ive had it 1 year)I will proabably add the headers,SLP cam,new injectors, port the heads, port the manifold, and maybe port the runners all in one shot, but am not sure If I will either get another vette(Ive had 4 before and want a Black 94-95 6spd)or a Turbo TransAm(always wanted one)but I reccomend this package to any TPI F-body.

I have to agree heads/cam/intake/gears and maybe some juice. I own a 2000 Z28 and despite my skills at driveing a 6 speed (ahem), they pull rather strongly up to 6000 rpm (as i happened to find out when not paying attention on a friday night, trying to show off). Not a question of whether you can beat him or not, but rather how much you want to spend to beat him. Personally i preffer my iroc over my 2000, just because i think the feel of the ride is much better. Heh, if my cousin still lived in OK i'd say "Take out a loan and lets break it loose" at least, that's what i'd do if i didn't have the money and felt that was the answer. Just my .02

I have a guy in my town that is the same way sorta. He has a 99 or 00WS6. with a few bolt ons, drag radials. Mine was a stock 92 Z28 5.7(with 175,000 miles)(except for catback, a few free mods,Steve Sphon Torque Arm,LCA Brackets, 3.73's.) Our local track is only a 1/8 mile. I jump him out of the hole everytime, at the end of the 1/8 I usually had him by a .10, but he was really reeling me in with a trap speed more than 5mph over me. In a 1/4 he would kick my A**. I decided to put a end to it all. I added about extra 150HP from MR BLUE BOTTLE. Now I jump his a** out of the hole and keep pulling away until the finish line. I have HIM by 5mph in the 1/8.
GET THE BOTTLE AND SOME STICKY TIRES.
