What next, runners or a 52 mm TB?

By the time summer rolls around, I will have installed my Accel TPI Intake Base and my 3.42 rear end. Heads are still a ways down the road, I plan on getting either AFR 190s or 195s, but I won't have the $1500 they cost anytime soon. So I figured I'd get either a set of high flow runners (which ones??) or a TPIS 52mm throttle body with air foil, what do you guys think would do more for my car?

TH 700R-4 Transmission

Best ET (w/o LT4 cam): 14.32 @ 97.7mph
(corrected for elevation)

Soon to Come: 7.625" 10 Bolt with 3.42s and Accel TPI Intake Base

I say get runners. everyone seems to favor AS&M semi-siamesed runners. They are a bit pricey, but they are the best out there. You could also go for the SLP semi-siamesed runners and do a little port work to them and have a nice set of runners for about $200 less. They also look alot better. I dont think you will need a throttle body for a while though. The guys on here say that it is the least restrictive part of the whole TPI setup

I'd say runners. The 48mm TB really supports a lot of horsepower. The runners will allow your intake to flow better. I have the SLP's and like them. I picked them up used for $150, polished them inside and out. You can usually pick up used runners on the board and the best part is they never wear out.

Runners. Port the upper plenum and put in an airfoil (bolt-in). The 48mm TB's will support plenty of HP, provided the MAF screens are out and the filters are K&N. In other words, the TB is not a major restriction. New runners will match the base nicely. I think the SLP runners are OK if you can port, or Accel LTR's if you still want a low-RPM powerband. I've also heard AS&M are pretty good runners, but have never used them.

I agree, the 48mm TB is good for LOTS of HP, get some AS&M's!!

I agree with Irocztwentygr8.

Get the runners, ESPECIALLY since you have an aftermarket base. You will feel a difference. I would of bought runners, but they would do very little for me, my intake manifold is still stock. Go with AS&M!

What is the powerband on the AS&M's?
I want some low rpm torque, but basically a little of both. What is best?

The SLP runners can be siamesed to shorten the runner length and extend the plenum volume. E-mail me if interested and I'll send some pic's of how I did my runners and plenum. It helped on the top end, and I plan to extend the siamesed section further when I remove them to help my friend who is buying them.
