IAC Questions
Okay, even though I generally consider myself well-versed in cars (how they work, etc), one thing I cannot seem to figure out is the idle air control (IAC), so I have a few questions that I need help with.
A) What exactly is it?
B) Where is it located?
C) How does one know if it is function correctly (What are some examples of a possible malfunction IAC)
D) How is it adjusted/removed/installed (Is it benificial to modify/adjust it from the stock position for a performance gain, if so, to what extent)?
Thanks.

Re: IAC Questions
By doing a search, it took about 5 seconds to find this...

Apparently the link isn't working, so do a search for "Idle Air Control" in the TPI forum and the first result should explain everything you've asked.

Re: IAC Questions
Well, I just attempted to adjust it, considering my car idles at 1200 RPM - and nothing happened.
Re: IAC Questions
let the car get full warm in park, with everythng hooked up
turn it off, then turn the key to on for 10 seconds but dont start it.
then turn off the key and unplug the IAC connector, its right under the tps on the passenger side off the throttle body.
then start the engine, the engine w/o being computer controlled idle wise should idle 500 rpms give or take 50+- if it doesnt you need to manual turn the screw to open or close the thorttle blades to get it to idle at this rpm first.
here follow this guide to adjust the idle.
