Fuel Pressure Gauge On The Fuel Rail?

Alright,

I was at a car show last weekend and noticed a car that had a Chrome Plated TPI setup...

Well, I instantly fell in love with it and went over to look at it.

I noticed there was a gauge on the fuel rail on the passenger side.

Where can I buy me a gauge to put on the fuel rail fitting so I can just see the fuel pressure at all times???

Anyone got a link to a gauge that would fit and to an Adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

yeah but if you read the description of the item it said that its not intended to be permanently mounted up. I was going to get one but since they said that i want to know the reasons why you cant plus i even called into summit to ask, couldnt really give me an anwer so i just never got one then bc of that.

Re: Fuel Pressure Gauge On The Fuel Rail?

I ran mine like that for a while too with no problems. I have since removed it and made up a small -4 braided line and moved the guage to the side by the heater blower motor. I didnt like were it was because it got in the way of adjusting my afpr. Plus mine came with a bracket to move the map sensor and I just didnt like the way it looked.

Re: Fuel Pressure Gauge On The Fuel Rail?

The reason for it being a temp mount is vibration. It is a very likely possibilty that the gauge will be wrecked from the engine vibration eventually. I know that's what happened with mine. The new one I bought to replace it ( inside mount ) even says it should be remote mounted, isolated from vibration so as to not damage the sender. I ran braided line to the firewall and used some rubber lined clamps to secure it.

Re: Fuel Pressure Gauge On The Fuel Rail?

I pity anyone who mounts one there and vibrations cause it to crack and spray fuel on the distributor. .... I would be more compelled to use a TBI pressure gauge setup that taps into the softlines and remote mount it off to the side of the engine. I think a few of us remember early TPI's with cold start feed lines leaking and spraying fuel on the distributor and causing fires.

Re: Fuel Pressure Gauge On The Fuel Rail?

I was wiping down my engine recently and the clear plastic cover came off, it snapped right back on, but I am sure the vibration and heat are not good for it. I will be changing mine soon also.
