24# Injectors - Idle Surge - Custom Chip???

I'm all over the map. I just finnished the T-Ram install after 10 months. I went up to 24# injectors and was wondering if I should get a chip burned to run them. I have a dead spot in the accellerator and the car surges when idling. Any tips for trouble shooting. Look at my sig for my combination. (Not to mention the SES light somes on when at idle but goes away after 1700 RPM...?)

I just swapped a 305 for 350 and put 26 psi injectors w/ afpr and set pressure at 48 psi which is 6 psi over stock.I also have hypertech thermomaster chip and as of now I have no problems w/ idiling. It sounds to me your your running a little rich,if the SES comes on at an idle and idle is rough and goes away after your rpms go up you may try the following:hypertech chip,AFPR,Larger exhaust,

Its possible that the injectors are causing the problem. You should really look into burning your own prom, the injector constant is super easy to fix, and then you can make other adjustments yourself if you feel the urge.

24lb injectors were too rich for my setup and had to adjust for them with my custom prom.

How do you go about fixing the injector constant? Do you have a link or some info how to do this?

what code do you have? at idle alot of times a iac code will set and turn off when idle is raised often this is the timing or throttle blade screw set wrong not the iac

most certaintly you are rich but, again you need to obtain the code

Any 24# inj will make your block leanr sink down to the 108-112 range.

U need to do some prom work.

Also you have completely changed the intake system and that will also influence idle characterisits and whether you are rich/lean as well.

If u visit the DIY Prom board there is a fantastic collection of stickies at the top that are there for beginners and basic reviews of common issues, problems and fixes.

Camaro cowboy, if u are running 26#inj and FP at 48 you are wasting gas and gicing up a lot of power. U need to account for that and your car and wallet will be a lot better off.

Vacuum leak is the number 1 cause of idle surge.

But, it would help alot if you had a chip burned for 24#/hr injectors.
