I am going tomorrow to by some nice stailess allen head plugs for the holes in my speed density manifold and I'm not familiar with which holes are not used on this. If any of these are emmisions related holes I need to know exactly what went where.

In the picture below which of these three holes can be plugged and what is necessary in any of these holes?




now in this picture there is a threaded hole right below that big notch in the fuel rail .... what went there or do I just plug it?

 

Well in the first photo its really important you dont plu them as you going to run sensors with your density unit in those, dont know of the top of my head which one I would have to pull out the good old service repair manual and the second photo should be a plud for a hose that goes to the pvc valve on the valve cover, hope this kind of hepls

 

the second picture is definately a vacuum port for the pcv valve then ??? ... I need to know for sure so it's properly set up for when it's sold ... also need to know if the corvette & camaro/firebird differed in sensor locations in these pictures.

 

I will galdy check tomorrow for you as I drive a 87 Vette and am rebuilding a 88 Iroc, the density system was the same with the holes your asking about I was pretty sure but i woudl appreciate another person responding to confirm this, I dont mind checking becuase I know the last couple times I had questions like this another member helped me out big time, sorry the 91 Z28 im rebuilding is no help since its in so many pieces (almost as bad as my 88 Iroc)

It looks great but Im sadly selling my vet as i got a deal i just coulnt pass up on a 89 Iroc-Z which is about to be my new daily driver once I sell the 87 vet, looks like you sure spent your time on the manifold

 

I'de keep it. gotta love them 2 door cruise missles ... I have a 82 vette convertible.

 

IIRC in the first pic, the two identical holes on the upper left hold down the vette fuel lines.

I'll take a look at my car later today for ya.

Thanks that helped alot a guy asked me if this manifold had holes for holding down a vettes fuel lines as well.

 

This is how its setup on a 90 Vette. I use a TPIS intake so it has provisions for both Vette and F-body. Ill bet the plugged port is for an F-body or just an eairlier version of TPI




The threaded hole in the second pic IS for a PCV fitting.

Offhand you said you have a TPIS lower. are you running that and modified runners and all? what type of rpm does the car pull with it on? I'm selling my complete edelbrock/slp setup and was curious how many more rpm it can pull verses stock.

 

Plugged hole=Cold Start sensor, used from 85-88.
