Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator
when u buy the regulator is should come with them...
basically u just have to remove the plenum depressureize the fuel lines. and take off the top of the regulator and replace it, assemble the plenum etc then set correct pressure with vacume line removed at idle, u will need to remove the shrader valve in the fuel cap port and install a fuel pressure gauge thats good to 60psi, then when done remove gauge and put the vavle back together and then attach vacume line. DONE!

I was kinda wondering about this also. I think its the adjustable one from BBK that says "installs in minutes". Is that even possible if you have to remove the plenum?
Do you have to loosen the bolts at the bottom of the runners or just remove the top ones and pull the plenum out?
Sorry, hope this wasnt hijacking.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator
thats the one i had installed on mine about 2.5yrs ago. it was a BBK, no u have to remove the plenum to get at it. the prob with the BBK one i got was that u had to reuse the original diaphram.... that just means u have to be careful while taking the only one out and switching it etc. and bc i used SLP runners which are shorter than stockers the bolt that comes outa the BBK hit the bottom of the plenum and didnt alow pressures lower than 55psi so i cut 1/4" off the bolt and i have full access to adjustablility. now to adjust the pressure u just need a small 3/8 or 5/16 open end wrench and a couple of twists to adjust and ur good. no need to take anything off to adjust.
ive taken the plenum off so many times i can do it in minutes without lossening the bottom bolts of one runner. (they say u are suppose too) its to save your gaskets, i wouldnt reuse the stockers if they got alot of miles on them, the fuel regulator should come wit new ones.

I'll sell you the BBK one if you want. I got the BBK one and after I installed it my ROC stopped running. I put back the old regulator and same crap happened. I couldn't figure the thing out and it turned out the most likely my old diagraph got damaged (although no visual). I thought it was something else but just in case I bought a new Holley regulator (with a diagraph) and my ROC rocks again. I'll sell you the BBK one if you want it. Just be VERY careful when taking off the old regulator. Also, be careful with the plenum, don't cut corness, spend 5 extra minutes and unplug/unscrew everything like you should, don't just raise the back of the plenum and try working like that (it's possible but why screw something up?). Unscrew the brake booster plug in the back of the plenum so you don't scratch the plenum when you take it off (will take you two minutes). Make sure you have the T-10 (I think it's a T-10, not sure about the size) that has a hole drilled inside as the screws on the regulator have tiny "*****" in the middle so a regular T-10 won't go in. Take time, don't cut corners and you'll be fine.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator
Thank you guys for your help. Looks like it was just the diaphram that went out on me so the Z is runnin' like she supposed to. Thanks again!

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator
Symptoms were as follow:
1. Extremely hard starting car was flooding itself at 48 psi
2. when it did start it kept stalling
3. heavy vibration when going down the road
4. anytime i came to a complete stop it would stall so two foot driving was required.
As far as the job it took me 45 mins because the plenum did not want to come loose but other than that it was pretty easy once i had access to the regulator. But take note the tightning sequence of the bolts because it will leek if not tightened correctly as i found out
