Purchasing new injectors! which set to chose????

Hey whats up? I have an '89 GTA with some mild mods (flowmaster exhaust, crane cam, rockers, chip and headers) and im facing a problem with leaky inectors; I guess that explains the noticable smell of gas in the interior as well as in the exterior when the hood is open! Im looking to purchase a new set and if you've read some of my previous posts, I want only whats best for my car and while im at it, upgrading as well so please no flaming about me spending 'x' amount of $$$ on injectors; Im not trying to be mr. money here and I know how much im willing to spend (dont mean to sound like an a*** either) . Anyway I'd like your opinion on these injectors http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...59823_-1_10299, Im going for the 24lb. injectors and Im also looking to purchase this adjustable FPR to go with it http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...46177_-1_10323

Tell me what you think! Thanks! L8R!

Stay away from Venom injectors. They seem to be going the route of Accel. Some sets are fine, some sets are junk.
Go with Ford/Bosch injectors found at this site. www.fiveomotorsports.com
I don't have personal experience with that regulator but you can get cheaper ones that work the exact same. TPiS loves to jack their prices up.

Re: Purchasing new injectors! which set to chose????

I just installed a BBK adjustable regulator , $70 for a blue aluminum shell with a bolt and a jamb nut , the bad thing was when I removed the old one I noticed the diaphram was starting to crack and split so I went to oriellys and got nailed for another $65 .
I would have saved money with the higher priced holley , it comes with a diapham and spring in the kit so everything gets replaced .

Re: Purchasing new injectors! which set to choose????

Ok! so venoms are crossed off my list then lol! I'm still leaning towards the TPiS FPR due to the fact that it adds and extra 15 HP when tuned properly! That could change though since the holley FPR also caught my eye! As for the injectors, I would go with the ones off the five-o motorsports website but those are only 22lb. injectors and I'm looking to go with 24lb. like these ones that I found on the hawks website http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...OD&ProdID=2001 what do you guys think?

Thanks L8R!

When tuned properly. Gotta love it. To tune it properly and realize that "15 hp gain" you're going to need to scan, datalog, and then tune the ECM.
Don't expect 15hp from an afpr install without it.

Re: Purchasing new injectors! which set to chose????

Damn! didn't know I had to do all that! I thought I just had to "tune" the regulator itself for the proper pressure level and voila! About how much would tuning run me? This also applies to all other adjustable regulators correct?

Thanks!

Re: Purchasing new injectors! which set to chose????

If I were you I would just buy a new set of Bosch injectors and not have to worry about them. If you buy a cheap set and they are garbage then you have to redo it all over again. I would just buy new from original maker and have no headaches.

Woa woa woa. Whats the matter with Accels? Thats what I have in my car. And when I say that I'm not defending them I just want to know if I screwed up by buying them.

Re: Purchasing new injectors! which set to chose????

Well I've heard alot of complaints not just about Accel's fuel injectors but also about their coils, spark plugs, caps, etc. and have stayed away from that brand.

Re: Purchasing new injectors! which set to chose????

I only ever had 1 problem with accels. I had 1 housing start leaking on me. A lot of people on HERE are having issues with them. The one set that I am still using is going on 5 years with no problems. Hit or miss apparently.

Re: Purchasing new injectors! which set to chose????

Yeah stay away from the Venom's, I got them with my motor swap and right out of the box I had a leaker. So I got another set and the car never ran right until I swapped them for Accel's. No problems since. I wanted the ford ones and they were apparently on backorder. I checked a few speed shops and no one could get them.

Accel has new and IMPROVED injectors.
it's a replacement line for the lousy ones, which are no longer on the market.
