Do we have a list of everyone's 1/4 times? Just curious what MPH you are turning ...

I have seen posts before about everyone posting their times.

I am curious as to some of the numbers. Most important, the MPH at the end.

Mark.

Without the intake mods, stock suspension, and 2.73 gears I ran consistent mid 13s at about 101 mph. Haven't been back yet to try out the new combo.

Irocbsa that seems kinda fast for stock suspension and what you listed. I could be wrong but just seemed odd to me.

91z, I don't think that sounds too fast at all. In fact I was a little disappointed. At the time I had all of my mods but the runners, intake, and suspension.

Here's one of my poorer slips.

1/8 - 8.609

Not really a lot of real mods:
Plenum ported
160º stat
Old Hypertech Thermomaster chip
Tubular panhard/LCA's
SLP 2OTL muffler/tailpipes (stock manifolds, cat and intermediate pipe)
AFPR @ 45 psi
TCI Streetfighter torque converter (~1800 rpm foot stall)
Nitto drag radials

The torque converter and Nitto's made the most improvement. If I had it to do over I would go with a looser converter (~2200-2400 stall) More info on my web site

I find your timeslips interesting. Your 87 Formula 350 13.94@96.67 and 98 Z28 1LE 13.15@107.59. The MPH is way higher in the 98, rather the MPH is low in your formula.

This is kinda what I was after as far as numbers.

Is it safe to say your forumla has lots of low end power, and kinda weaker at the top end?

Mark.
(not belittling your car or times, 13's are fast. Just curious how it was through the run).

That is correct. The Camaro has a pretty flat torque curve and revs easily to 6200 rpm. But it has a stiff suspension and I had problems getting it off the line. I haven't dyno'd it yet, but the Formula makes loads of torque down low and also has a flat power curve, but it dies at 4600-4700 rpm. The mods on the Formula so far have been to get the most from the car (traction & ET), then I hope to start adding more power. I figure when I'm done the Formula will also be running ~108 mph, but running 12.7 or so. The other night at the dragstrip the Bird beat a newer LS1 WS6 Trans Am. It was an 1/8 mile track. I hooked well with a 1.98 60', to his 2.45 60'. He could not make the difference up and I won by a couple car lengths. Of course he would have pulled me in the 1/4. Here are the 2 runs side by side. You can compare the times going down the track and see how the runs went.

It was 100° the night I ran the 13.15 in the Camaro and about 40° when the Formula ran 13.94. There are 140 some runs in my Formula documented here

all of you guys with 90 model cars you have the 10 bolt. I know my 90 iroc has the 10 bolt and i heard they al swiched over to it. Then agian i have the 12" rear disks on my car too. my times are in the sig. I should run much better than that when i run agian. I have pulled some cars up top that ran 103+ in the traps. so i should get some better times and trap speeds.

my car was made on dec. 13th 1989. do you have rear disks too? The weird thing about my rear disks is that the setup is identical to what the lt1 4th gens got. it does not have any provisions on it for abs though.

i think that pass was a 14.21 or 14.31 @ 96.XX. I am running at 3500 ft. I have been told that the track i run at is the slowest track in texas. it is never preped they just open it up and let people run. i did not correct for calculated air density. if i had done that the time would have been a 13.2 i think and i really don't think my car is capable of that. I think that 13.62 is representative of what my car is capable of at sea level. I have run a 13.23 on g-tech while at sea level.

in sig but G-tech awhile ago in 70deg weather, going to the track in this weather(95+everyday with suffocating humidity, makes as much sense as **** on a bull give me some coolweather, headers, dragradials,LCA's,and subframes, and I'm sure I can get a low 13/high 12@105,without removing the valve covers.

You guys with the 5.7's seem to be running real good #'s. The best I've run on a g-tech was 13.98 @ 101mph before the exhaust and ported plenum and 160* stat.

I raced a LS1 Camaro SS on the street, but only for 1/8 of a mile. Beat him by a full carlength.

Hoping for 13.80's

Ran a 12.82 @ 112 earlier this year on motor only. Since then, I have put my vortech s-trim back on, and upgraded my stock ECM to a Speed Pro ECU.

I am hoping for some high 10's this year. Im going tomorrow to see what it runs on drag radials.

Hopefully 120+mph with the heat and first time with new combo.
