Throttle body bypass BROKE!!!!

Hey guys, i did the throttle bypass thing last week, and well anyways today, i smelt some buring coolent, yall know the smell, well i look under the hood, and anyways coolent was spraying everywhere. The hose that comes from the block, (the one that u switch from the throttle body to the black heater control valve), well the port that that hose connected to on the black heater control valve broke, and was causing water to go everywhere, wut had happend was the hose was putting to much force on the port thing and caused it to break, and ways i made a temporary bypass using a socket to block one hose, and connected two others. anyways, how did yall do the bypass so that it wont put to much stress on the plastic heater control vavle? I hope u understand wut i wrote, it kinda confuses me too.

With age it gets brittle and will brake. I had to get a new valve and I also got a longer hose with an L-bend in it. Have had it like that for about 2 years now.

Mine heater control valve broke too.

I think whenever you try taking the hose off any TPI car, they break. POS plastic

Bad design. Good thing they're cheap.

My valve snapped when I did this mod in the winter...then one of the hoses I used burst during the emissions test. Went out and bought all-new $hit and it's been great ever since.

or just go to the parts store and get a ttwo way heatter valve instead of the 3 way and run it back into the system that way you'll still need the plug for the intake though my car hasn't run over 160 degrees since i've had it

Hey Pete,

Why is your car so slow with all those mods? Are you running above sea level?

By comparison, I have no internal engine mods and am running consistent 14.0 at 98mph with a personal best of 13.98 at 98mph.

Just wondering what gives.
