Well, tell me what you guys think. Its in a Vette, but its close enough to a camaro, and most of the corvette forum guys seem to be kinda........stuck up I guess, so I'll just hang out here.

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

The car needs some work obviously, the paint is about a 7-10, and the front ground effects are missing. The engine, tranny, and rear all have under 5k miles though and the suspension looks all new also. It was fully loaded from the factory, all power, z51 handling, everything. I love it.

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

I didn't build the engine myself. I first tried to buy the car a year ago and missed out, then found it again about 2 weeks ago, and no way I'd let it go again. The original owner showed me all the reciepts and knew what he was doing with cars. I don't know the specs on the engine, other than its a 383, all of the underhood work totaled right over $13K. It is a miniram, aluminum fast burn heads with work done to em, dont know what the exact compression ratio is, but it won't run on anything under about 98 octane. The cam is the tpis solid roller (biggest one). Fuel system is accel (computer, injectors, and pump). Headers are ceramic coated long tubes. He did mention that it was a forged bottom end, hence the reason it can take over 7k revs. This car flies! When I drove it a year ago, I got about 65 in first gear and took it to 160 with ease. Sorry for the long post, I'm just so excited about the car.

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

I bet that thing is an animal. solid roller usually gives it away. TPIS biggest solid is a 244/251 cam. certainly not huge by a solid roller standard, but definately a screaming cam up to 7000 rpms

Nice motor man

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Hopefully I can get some 1/4 times, dyno numbers, and some vids within the next few months. Plan for this car is to be a show car, hopefully going to a rear mounted twin turbo setup in the future, and of course a bunch of other stuff!

I doubt the fast burn's as those are Vortec oriented and from your pics it looks like standard pre 86 aluminum heads. (Centerbolt covers, and intake mounting pattern. You probebly need a good tune as you should be able to run that on 91 Octane.

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

A dyno tune will definately be the one of the first things I address. It will run on 93, but not real good in the top end without the added octane. I was told fast burn, but the guy could be mistaken, either way, I know they are aluminum heads at least, and not the stockers from 87-91 vettes. I'm pulling the valve covers in a few days so I'll try and figure out what they are.

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

big polished zr1 rims would look great on there, it would really brighten up the whole car, and show off that color.

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

i actually think the black grand sport style ZR1's would look great or even the C6 wheels in 18/19 inch combo

Re: My minirammed 383 (pictures)!!!

I was actually kicking around the idea of doing grand sport paint and rims, but it seems to un original. Besides, then I'd have to ditch the greenwood body kit, which I really like. I'm thinking a bright orange with black zr1 rims and a smoked glass top, but all thats on down the road.

The Fast Burn head accepts both center bolt and early style four bolt flange mount valve covers

I had thought that was the case, but I wasn't really sure and I didn't want to be wrong, so I just kept my mouth shut. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
