SVO injectors
My 88 GTA needs some injectors, and after searching around here, seems most agree the SVO's are the way to go. My motor is pretty much bone stock, but I do plan on changing to Vortec heads and upping the cam a bit in the future. I know I'll need an adjustable regulator and FP gauge, but wasn't sure just how much the 24# SVO's will support, or if they'd work well on my stocker. I could just send my stock injectors out for a cleaning, but wanted some input before I go either way. Thanks for any help.

Re: SVO injectors
The 24# SVO (Bosch) are just fine for you.
In the 350 TPI the prom is set for 22 # injectors, but the 24 will be okay, or you could edit you prom and change them to 24# setting.
I'm running a set of the 24# SVO in a 350 with vortec heads and ramjet.

Re: SVO injectors
That's good to know. I assume it's the blue top ones I want, correct? I'm trying to avoid getting into changine the prom, but will if I have to. I'd almost rather go Megasquirt instead, but that's way in the future, if at all.

Re: SVO injectors
I ran the 24's as 22's for a month before changing code. They worked okay set for 22.
It's been a couple years and I can't remember the color.
Sorry

Re: SVO injectors
24 svos are good for about 450hp. the SVOs are tricky cuz they are rated lower than bosh and accell etc GM. i got the 30lb SVOs for my 500hp 383, even tho ford rates them at 30lbs.... to GMs specs they are about 32lbs.
the 24s will be fine for your stocker... just set the fuel pressure alil lower or set the prom for the 24s as stated above

Re: SVO injectors
it will make the car run rich...you should turn pressure way down roughly 36-38 psi

Re: SVO injectors
Well I sure don't want it to run any richer. I know I have at least one injector that is dumping fuel, as evidenced by my 11mpg, and the hard start after warmed up, like on is just bleeding alot. I really appreciate the info on this. Thanks guys.

Re: SVO injectors
I had a friend that used the 19# SVO injector from a modular 4.6 and he said he was running them at 22 on a 350, and they worked okay.
I guess that is what he was talking about.
