Is this really a TPI question?

Yea you have to pull the tranny to get to it.

Nothing really to watch for. Just make sure its not the oil pan leaking before you tear into the car.

ok how do i tell the difference between the oil pan leaking and the rear main seal.
i took the cover off the bellhousing to look for oil in there and there is none on the flywheel. but on the top of the starter where the bolts go through there was oil on that. there is oil that looks to be coming out of the back of the pan.
how do i tell for sure. if its not the rear main seal i don't wanna mess with it
thanks guys

Clean it off real good, drive it a little, and check it out again. If its on the top of the starter, its probably coming from up higher, like the valve cover gasket.

i changed it. it was the rear main seal and part of the oil pan gasket.
it wasn't leaking on top of the starter just kinda pooled up where the starter and engine meet.
thanks for the help though
