TPI setup good flow enough for ZZ4 engine?
Im planning the induction system for a ZZ4 small block with either the fast burn heads (if the vortec base comes out on time) or a set of AFR heads that are comparable to the fast burn heads....as well as an LT4 cam....im looking at roughly 430hp at 6000 rpm and 430 ft/lbs of torque at 4400 rpm (getting the numbers from scoggin dickeys website)...my car is a daily driver..and would like good mileage...but I want to run in the 12s....I would like to go with a 3.42 rear end....first....will I be able to get into the 12s N/A with these gears? Second and most important...how should I setup the TPI system? I want to stay with as much stock parts as possible since thats what I bought...first...the base...if I go vortec..i'll get the new base...if not....will a ported base from skulte handle this power...if not...should i get an edelbrock and port that one? Second..the runners...should I get stock ported...or get some SLP siamised runners? I will be porting the stock plenum....and should I go with a 52mm or 58 mm TB? Im guessing I should go with 1 3/4" headers? Any other tips welcome...thanks...oh and by the way...when everything is done..i'll be shooting a 100hp shot of NOS in her as well....but I want to be running solid 12s with out it.

I'm not a speed parts guru, but you definatly want the ported base and the siameesed runners. You can even siameese your base as seen here --> TPI Base.
You also want to port out the plenum and go for the 58mm Throttle Body. I think they are rated at 1000 CFM.
I think you will be low 13's w/ that setup, but I don't think you will hit 12's w/o the laughing gas. Just my $.02 though.

Go with the Edelbrock or Accel base and the siameesed runners. The throttle body is hard to say 52mm is probibly enough but I went with the 58mm just in case. If you do this with the AFR's and the HOT cam you WILL be in the 12's.

Thanks a lot 91Z....your setup is pretty much exactly what I was thinking on running....what kind of gas mileage are you getting? and on what gears? Any pics? Cant wait for the new engine....will be doing the suspension and rear end in september...then hopefully installing engine during my winter break (year round school...short breaks)

I would definitely think you can run 12's with the mods you listed, as I'm almost there, and the AFR heads are much better than the L98 heads I'm running. I've also got a TPIS base and runners, and I plan on siamesing my runners soon. Definitely get the SLP 1 3/4" headers. I started with a 9-bolt 3.45 rear end and now have 3.70 gears.
What kind of pics are you looking for? I have lots of my engine.

Hey 91Z...ive been meaning to ask you...your front runners look like they have two big dents in them....is that to clear something, thats how you got them, or am I just imagining it?
