injector cleaning?
you can goto NAPA and pic up a bottle of injector cleaner that hooks up in place of ur regular fuel line, then the engine runs off the bottle cleaning the injectors until the bottle runs out, supposed to be pretty good and cost like $15-20 for the kit, and then u can just buy replacement cans later. its about the same price as going to have it done somewhere and is probably the same technic used.

I've heard good things about this place..

I would imagine that having the injectors ultrasonically cleaned off the car would do a better job than a can of solvent that hooks up to the fuel rail, but I don't know for sure.

I'm trying to take my injectors out to send them to them but I am stuck. I got the plenum off and the bolts to the fuel rail out, but I can't get it to come off. The book says to turn the lock tabs counter-clockwise to release them. I have done that to the driver's side injectors but I can't get the other side to do it. The tabs just won't budge. They are really stuck. Can I use some carb cleaner to loosen them up? After I get those tabs turned, how does the whole thing come out? Does it come out as one unit or do I have to take the crossover tubes off also? And do the injectors stay on the engine or do they come with the rails? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unbolt the fuel rail hold down on the intake, unscrew the fuel lines, and pry the whole fuel rail (injectors and all) off the manifold. Once you have the assembly off, you can then manipulate the locking rings that hold the injectors to the fuel rails
and pull the injectors out. You will be replacing all the O rings anyway, so I wouldn't sweat messing them up.

Thanks. I was worried about screwing up the injectors themselves or the fuel rails.

I don't remember any bolts on the front that are holding down the fuel rails other than the main four bolts. I'll look though.

OK, now I know what bolt you are talking about. Its the one that holds down the bracket for the incoming fuel lines. Yes, I unbolted that one. It was a ***** with the lines in the way. I was just trying to prevent damage to the fuel rails or the injectors when I pulled them off. I will try agiain with more force today when I get off work.

I was able to get the injectors out with a little more muscle. I was afraid to mess them up but they popped out after I removed the crossover tubes. BUt the EGR valve is in the way for the fuel rails to come out now. Damn, what next?
BS,
You must be right about here in your disassembly:
You may have to remove a fuel line between the rails to allow it to clear the EGR valve, or remove the EGR itself. This is a very good excuse to clean the EGR ports and valve base of all the carbon deposits. Don't forget to reassemble everything with anti-seize compound.
